ABOUT MINDFULNESS
ABOUT MINDFULNESS
Mindfulness is a method that develops our ability to be in the present moment, without valuing or judging what we experience. It is a simple, yet powerful practice of training our attention. Being mindful in every moment makes it easier to follow more constructive and positive paths in everyday life. Mindfulness is proven to develop qualities such as attention, awareness, and compassion.
Meditation is part of the practice of becoming aware, often described as “the formal practice". The "informal practice" is however just as important. This is when we practice being present in everyday life. Being present may sound easy. Truth is, we think around 60,000 thoughts per day, and with the magnitude of impressions in modern life, it is easy to feel distracted. This makes it very difficult for many to be in the present naturally.
Through Mindfulness, you can create a healthier distance to the brain's automatic thoughts. You simply become more aware of how you think, feel and act in different situations in life, for example in the communication with others. It can also be described as getting to know yourself and how you function better.
Science suggests mindfulness is an efficient solution to common contemporary challenges such as stress, burnout, insomnia, and chronic pain. Also, it occurs to have a positive effect on our work lives by enhancing concentration, creativity, as well as co-creation between colleagues.
